Runway Festival Line Up 2009

The first Runway Festival has been cleared for take-off – to be held at Bournemouth Flying Club on the border of Bournemouth Airport – on 4-5 July.

The Runway Festival will feature twelve superb bands from the local area, plus djs, art, craft and photography exhibitions and stalls, face-painting and live graffiti courtesy of FairPlay, plus an array of eateries and drinkeries.

Set literally on the perimeter fence of the airport, the setting will supply a unique visual backdrop to the Festival, which will run from 2pm on both days. Tickets will be just £3 for each day (U14s free!), available (next week) from bands and djs, as well as Razorhead barbers, Langdons, our bh one Live gigs, and We Got Tickets.

300 tickets will be available for each day; we recommend that anyone interested in attending should snap these up from the bands and available outlets quick sharp, as this is likely to be a sell-out.

We will be offering a 20% discount on taxis, plus hopefully a mini-bus running to and from the Festival from Bournemouth Town Centre. More info on this very soon… Parking will be available at the Flying Club, but unfortunately no camping – next year maybe!

We will be raising money for Julia's House throughout the weekend by selling hugs for 50p a go in a Hug Tent; group hugs at a discount price will also be available! Julia's House is a Broadstone-based children’s hospice, dedicated to providing love, support and help to hundreds of children across Dorset who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses.

Lastly, for now, we would like to apologise to those bands we have previously offered a ‘tbc’ slot at the Festival. We have had to downsize the number of bands playing as this is the first such event at the Flying Club, so thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding whilst we have been working to get the green light to put the Festival on.
